...new cozy space, home away from home! This particular ZES is housed in a former spa, so all the individual studios are private with doors to either close when quiet and concentration is called for, or opened up to encourage visitors and conversation!
Pamela Hodges Macatee is an artist who lives and works along the beautiful shores of the Atlantic in North Palm Beach, Florida. She paints and collaborates alongside several artists at Zero Empty Spaces studios in Palm Beach Gardens.
Exploration and experimentation with color and paint and the way it moves and settles into a composition is part of Pamela's inspiration and motivation. It would be hard to label the artist into any singular technique, although some have described her work as impressionistic as an expression of what inspires her:
"every green I can dream of, massive skies either blinding with their blueness or muting all colors with their gray cloudiness...the sweetness of the face of a child or the wisdom earned by the adult..I paint and I draw what I love, and it is these things and so much more..."
Pamela grew up in California and Florida, but studied art at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She is also passionate about teaching art, which she has done periodically throughout her career as a working artist, specializing in landscape, still life, portraiture , and commissioned paintings.
Pamela's oil paintings are currently on display and for purchase at the studio/galleries of Zero Empty Spaces, 11300 Legacy Ave., Unit 140, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She is also honored to have her work in the Brenau University's permanent collection.
Pamela was recently honored by the Lake Country Artisans Village with a third place prize for her painting entitled Cuscowilla Pines during the Artisans Village annual Juried Exhibition for 2020.
